Introduction to Autism
This course covers topics such as defining behaviors in autism, thinking differently and perceiving differently at a basic/beginner level. The duration of the course varies between 1.5 hours and 1 day depending on the content. The duration is planned according to demand.
Course content:
• Defining the static manifestations of autism,
• Brief history,
• Providing social interaction skills,
• Providing communication skills,
• Cognitive, sensory and environmental adjustments,
• Independent living skills,
• Treatment methods.
Introduction to Autism (2-3 Days)
This course covers advanced autism topics.
Day 1 – Introduction
On the first day, autism will be defined by introducing autism. What is autism?
• Tripartite qualitative disorders; social interaction, communication, cognitive and sensory
• Autistic special perception and definition.
Autistic thought: special thinking mechanism of autistics
• Theories on autism
• Autism diagnoses and terminology
• Static view of autism.
Day 2 –
Communication: How autistic children and individuals perceive communication with us and the communication they establish among themselves and how they express themselves (expressief) will be emphasized
• Making their world understandable and meaningful by providing clarity and simplicity to communication
• Making sense of and clarifying language development and communication that we encounter as a problem
• Conducting research on communication development
• Specially supported communication and autism
Day 3 –
Some behaviors exhibited by individuals with autism spectrum disorder are perceived as problematic behaviors by their social and close environment. Some behaviors are harmful to the person and their social environment. Some of these behaviors are behaviors specific to autism. This section will clarify problem behaviors.
• Approach to behavioral disorders that we encounter very frequently and seek solutions for them.
• Common problem behaviors in autism spectrum disorder
• What are the reasons for behaviors that we encounter as problem behaviors?
• What should be done to prevent these behaviors and how should individuals be helped?

Practical training:
The aim of this course is to create a class with 4-5 autistic children that is appropriate to their level. Those who will take the course will be given theoretical reading lessons for 5 days and will be taught how to work with autistic children in a practical way. Participants will be taught one-on-one practical training on the development of autistic children, learning techniques and how to overcome the problems of autistic children.
